Twelve years of software development experience in the Applications and Systems domain. I have experience in requirements definition, project planning, prototyping, design and development. I am currently working as a Software Engineer in the BMC firmware development team in Cisco.

Worked mostly in C. Other expertise are C++ , shell scripting, windows and linux application kernel mode driver development. Also provides community support to online forums on programming based on my expertise.

Leadership

In my first year I got the chance to lead a team of 4. When comes to team work I used to be in the front to drive the team. In Intel I got experience of leading a team of more than 8 members and thereby providing both technical and leadership support to the team.

Web Design

Freelance web designer. Build website for the church. Also used an open source tool to build a e-commerce site for the church. Web designing is my freelancing experience.

I am part of the Server Access Virtualization Business Unit. My work involves supporting the software feature release and HW platform release for BMC firmware.

*March 2011 - Present: Was involved in the end to end development (Power on to first customer shipment) for newly productized Entry level processor based Cisco platforms. I'm now working on firmware releases to support new features.

*July 2009 - March 2011: I was the lead developer who was part of establishing a small utilities team in Cisco which was providing extended support to the BIOS and BMC firmware. There are various sets of tools developed to quickly enable the customers.

I was part of the Enterprise Software Technology Division in Intel. My work involves developing server management applications for Digital Enterprise Group servers in various pre-boot as well as OS present environments. The work I do is mainly based on the IPMI and EFI standard and runs on Intel's XEON 32bit, EM64T as well as the Itanium based servers.

* January 2007 - July 2009: I was one of the main developer of the utilities used to update the BIOS and all the system firmware's present in the system. This includes knowledge of BIOS/Firmware interfaces and flash specifications. I am involved in planning, estimation, managing the application.

* August 2005 - January 2007: I was one of the main developer of the system configuration utility which is used to configure Intel servers. I am involved in planning, estimation, managing the application.

* January 2005 - August 2005: I was one of the main developer for the Intel BIOS server toolkit. I also participated extensively in the year 2005 technical roadmap preparation on fleshing out technical details of the Intel BIOS server toolkit features.

* September 2004 - January 2005: I was the developer on the One Boot Flash update and iFlash applications. These were the update utilities which are used to update BIOS, Firmware, SDR repository and FRU area.

I was part of the engineering team for Smart Contact, Jabber and Open Source Reference Architecture projects in Hewlett Packard. I was one of the main developers for the Smart Contact project and was communicating with the level one support engineers who were working across the globe in customer sites to fix the issues raised for the Smart Contact product. The Jabber project was to port the Jabber instant messaging system from Linux to Windows OS. I have contributed a significant amount of time and was one of the main developers for the project.

I was given a 'Recognition award' for completing the Jabber porting from Linux to windows in record time.

Software Engineer

Aug 2000 - Dec 2002

I was part of the engineering team for Server Management software, Webmail, VXML browser, Media encoder - Remote desktop and HTTP benchmarking projects. In server management project I was involved in developing two utilities which were compatible with IPMI and DMI standards. The Webmail was a maintenance project and the client was one of the leading web portal in India. I guided three college students for their successful accomplishment of curriculum project to create a VXML browser. I developed a HTTP server to provide the user inputs for the Media encoder- remote desktop projects. I helped one of the leading web portal in India to cut down the number of servers they had across world by doing benchmarking of Apache server with different configurations.
